Andrew studied historical lute performance under Tommie Andersson at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, graduating with the (then 3-year) Diploma of Music Performance in 2001, having 

specialised on the 13-course baroque lute & the 14-course theorbo. In 2002 he 

received the lute scholarship of Fondazione Marco Fodella for further study 

in Milano at the Istituto di Musica Antica at Villa Simonetta, during 

which time healso took private tuition under Eduardo Egüez, 

& participated in masterclasses under Hopkinson Smith & 

Paul O'Dette. In 2003 he was guest alumno of the 34 Cursos 

Internacionales Manuel de Falla at the Universidad de Cartuja  

in Granada and performed with Ensemble Elyma, directed by 

Gabriel Garrido, in the 52 Festival de  Música y Danza de Granada,  

appearing with them on the CD "Musique à la  Cathédrale d'Oaxaca" 

(K617).  As solo recitalist, he was guest artist at the Festivallo Mediceo held 

at the Medici Villa "La Ferdinanda" near Artimino in Tuscany. As basso-continuo 

he has performed with Roman musica da chiesa seicentesca ensemble  Concerto 

Romano (Alessandro Quarta), The Sydney Philharmonia Baroque Band,  Australian 

Baroque Brass, Salut! Baroque, A Mid-Summer Opera,  The Willoughby Symphony 

Orchestra (solist). Andrew has tutored at a number of Australian early music courses, 

including  The Sydney Conservatorium of Music's Early Music Seminar, 

The Hobart International Early Music Festival, The University of Sydney's 

Centre for Continuing Education, & Gambello.
